The Sozo Foundation is based in Vrygrond, Cape Town, where 80% of low-income households are food insecure. To help combat this the “Eden” program was designed to help communities address these levels of food insecurity. Last year Francisca came to Irish Seed Savers as part of the program to learn about our community work and how this could feed into their Eden program. In continuing this new found relationship, our seed coordinator, Jo Newton recently traveled to Cape Town to see first hand how the Eden program is transforming local communities and changing lives. Below are just a few pictures from Jo’s trip.
