Irish Seed Savers were thrilled to feature on Episode 2 of RTE series Home Grown on Monday November 14th.

Home Grown is a brand new 7-part series which celebrates the Irish Horticulture industry and is presented by Kitty Scully and Colm O’Driscoll, who travel all over Ireland in search of stories that celebrate Irish Horticulture and growing in all its variety.

On a glorious day at the end of April, Kitty travelled to County Clare to visit Irish Seed Savers to discover how we conserve and protect heritage seed. Kitty spoke with various members of the team about open-pollinated heritage seed, its importance for national and global food security and the difference between growing for food and growing for seed.

Watch the video to learn more and view the spectacular heritage seed gardens and orchards in bloom.
