Forest Schools at Irish Seed Savers
Forest School
Forest School is an outdoor child led approach to holistic education and development. It takes place in the same woodland once a week and ideally the same group will return month after month for a minimum of a year. This allows children to experience being in nature through each season and in many different conditions. Forest School builds resilience, independence, social skills, creativity and inspires a love of nature through a feeling of empathy and connectedness.
We run two Forest School sessions from our native woodland each Sunday, one is in the morning and for 3-5 year olds and the other is in the afternoon and for 6-10 year olds. It runs in 6-week blocks and can be booked through our website.
Nature Camps
Irish Seed Savers have been running children’s outdoor nature camps for over ten years. The camps are Forest School inspired and the group spend most of their time in the woodland. We cook together over an open fire, learn bushcraft techniques and the games we play are tools used to teach about ecology, Irish heritage and nature connection.
Our camps run during Halloween, Easter and Summer school breaks and can be booked through our website.
