A Beginner’s Guide to Bird Watching – Saturday May 13th – 10am – 4:30pm

This course will cover everything you need to get started on bird watching, as well as practical advice for making your garden more bird friendly. The day will be very interactive and will involve several walks around the 20 acre site to practice the skills you will be learning. The tutor is a Conservation Ranger with the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and has over 10 years previous experience working for BirdWatch Ireland.

Practical skills

  • Correct use of binoculars + how to choose the right pair for you
  • Bird identification by sight and sound
