Wild Food Foraging – Sunday Sept 25th – 10am – 4:30pm
This intro course is a culinary exploration of Ireland’s edible landscape through foraging walks, cookery demonstrations and wild food experiences. This is an opportunity to learn about all things wild including many edible types of wild herbs, roots, flowers, fruits and nuts as well as insights into the history and folklore, nutritional, medicinal, and culinary uses of Ireland’s wonderful wild harvest. This will include exploring the restoration aspects and importance of wild foraging for the times that we live in. Please bring a few clean empty jars, a basket for collecting plants, scissors, paper/plastic bags, a pen, raingear and boots.

Our Big workshop weekend offers a range of full-day courses to choose from. You can take a single course or two courses over the weekend. Our courses always get positive feedback from participants and you will benefit from on hand expert tutors with years of experience in their field. The weekend format also offers you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and to spend some time in our gardens, orchards and woodlands in beautiful East Clare.

The Seed Savers Cafe will be open on each course day for lunch, serving soup, tea and coffee, and homemade cakes. The Cafe is vegetarian and uses organic ingredients from the gardens and orchards whenever possible.
