An impressively healthy and productive stewing apple \u2013 cooks to a fine pur\u00e9e. Found growing in the garden of an old cottage in Feakle, Co. Clare. The cottage is approximately 300 years old and was the home of an O’Brien family. The original tree has fallen over on its side, but continues to bear a large crop each year for the current owners’ the O’Gorman’s who brought it to the attention of ISSA. Recently DNA tested; the variety is considered unique and part of the Irish heritage apple collection.<\/p>\n
