Emma Lamb (Plunkett Dillon)

Director

Originally an archaeologist I retired in 2019 from the National Trust where I was Assistant Director, Wales. My responsibilities included leading a team of professional conservation specialists whose expertise ranged across nature conservation, land management, building work and historic house interiors. In addition, I provided strategic direction for conservation work in Wales and played a leading role in wider Trust programmes such as renewable energy generation and climate change. Key to my job was engaging with the Welsh Assembly and representing the National Trust on government environmental groups.

After retiring I was appointed trustee and vice chair of Dyfed Archaeological Trust overseeing a merger with similar organisations to create Heneb, The Trust for Welsh Archaeology. More recently I was appointed to a Welsh Government Panel charged with assessing the effectiveness of Cadw (equivalent of OPW) governance.

Recently I have focused on restoring and unravelling a large garden in Offaly which gives us great pleasure despite the challenges of pruning 30 heritage apple trees.
