How do we process your data?

Irish Seed Savers Association CLG complies with its obligations under the “GDPR” by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

The information you provide to us i.e. name, address, financial information, billing address, shipping address, email address and any phone numbers are only used for legitimate business purposes. This information is used for the purposes that it is given for billing purposes, shipping orders to the customer etc. If we encounter difficulty when processing an order, this contact information is used to contact the user.

In order to process volunteer applications we may also collect references, Garda vetting (if working with children), qualifications, previous work/volunteer experience, details of emergency contacts, and any essential health information. This information will be retained for legal or contractual reasons, to protect us (including in the event of an insurance or legal claim).

How long do we keep your data?

We keep data in accordance with the guidance set out within our formal records retention policies and do not maintain data beyond what is absolutely required by law.

Sharing your personal data

In certain circumstances, we need to share personal data in pursuit of our legitimate interests, for example the use of processors to manage communications, surveys or the secure storage of your data. We may also share your data with individuals or organisations that monitor our website or printing companies to ensure the legitimate interests of Irish Seed Savers Association CLG is met.
