Bareroots for 2025/26 season

Please note that shipping of trees will commence in the dormant season, from January 2026. Trees cannot be dispatched before this time. In unforeseen circumstances where purchased trees are not available due to failure or damage, replacement varieties or a refund will apply.

Plum Tree Information

Plums require good protection from wind and the sunnier the better. They are one of the earliest fruit trees to reveal their flowers in the spring and as a result, pollination levels can disappoint if adequate shelter has not been provided.

Plum Pollination, Flowering

A large number of plums are self fertile but it is always worth having two trees with similar flowering times to provide improved levels of pollination. Considering the possibility of very harsh spring weather in Ireland and the early flowering tendency of plums, it is advisable to choose varieties with later flowering times where possible.
