We are delighted to offer a selection of large 2-year-old potted Irish heritage apple trees, perfect for adding a piece of Ireland’s rich food crop heritage to your garden. These robust and healthy trees are ready to be planted and will soon yield delicious, unique apples. Pay a visit to our 20 acre organic farm in Scariff, Co. Clare and explore the varieties on offer including:

  • Ard Carin Russet: Golden russeted fruit, ripe in September.
  • April Queen: A large juicy apple useful both for cooking and juicing.
  • Belvedere House: Deep crimson fruit with crimson coloured flesh. Excellent for jams, jellies and tarts.
  • Bloody Butcher: Large red and yellow apple. Eaten fresh from the tree, it has a mild flavour.
  • Councillor: An attractive apple which is used for cooking in early September, before sweetening to become tasty and aromatic as an eating apple.
  • Eight Square: A tasty bite-sized green eating apple, a children’s favourite.
  • Sweet William: A medium sized, round apple with creamy yellow skin, red stripes and stippling. The flesh is crisp, very white and very sweet.

Our beautiful heritage apple trees are available for collection only at the Irish Seed Savers Garden Gift Shop.
