Events at Irish Seed Savers

Irish Seed Savers host a variety of event days throughout the seasons, opening our beautiful 20 acre organic farm, heritage seed gardens and orchards to the public. See our upcoming events below:

National Biodiversity Week – Saturday 18th May: To celebrate National Biodiversity Week Irish Seed Savers will host free guided tours of the heritage orchards with our expert orchardists and free guided tour of the heritage seed gardens with our expert garden team. The heritage gardens and orchards at Irish Seed Savers are a showcase of the rich biodiversity of Ireland, and the guided tours offer a unique opportunity to learn about the history, natural cultural heritage and ecology of the site.

National Heritage Week – Saturday 24th August: During National Heritage Week, Irish Seed Savers offer free guided tours of our orchards and seed gardens to celebrate Ireland’s agricultural heritage, the importance of preserving traditional skills, knowledge and our cultural heritage.

Tastes of the Orchards Tours – Friday & Saturday 27th/28th September: These apple tasting tours are always a highlight of the year and offer the chance to taste some of Ireland’s rare heritage apple varieties. Our knowledgeable orchard staff will bring you on a guided tour of the orchards, discussing our conservation work and talking about the many rare varieties we have in our orchards (180+ varieties). This tour culminates in a tasting experience, where you will get to taste many Irish heritage varieties of apples.
