We’re delighted to launch our first research trial using apple tree cuttings from our genebank, exploring organic propagation methods that support sustainable fruit production while promoting biodiversity.
This cross-team initiative began as a proposal from our Orchard Assistant and was designed and is being supervised by our Head of Conservation, bringing together orchard expertise and conservation knowledge.
By testing natural propagation approaches, we hope to improve success rates while staying true to our commitment to protecting Ireland’s fruit heritage and encouraging environmentally friendly practices.
