This is an extremely rare pea, bred by a farmer in Catalonia, Spain and named to honour his wife. Fortunately, this lovely variety has been preserved by his grandson, Jesus Vargus. This tall pea grows to 2m high, and has lovely large flowers followed by pods containing an average of 10 sweet, fat peas. The peas, delicious straight from the vine, also retain their sweetness when frozen.
