Description

In Nature’s Acre, Ciarán De Buitléar tells the story of a hidden Victorian walled garden in the heart of an Irish village.  He describes how caring for this special place transformed his own life.

During lockdown, Ciarán was given the key to the garden. What began simply as an opportunity to grow vegetables with his sons gradually became something much bigger.  It became a journey into the natural world and a chance to reconnect with family, community and sense of belonging.

Warm, personal and rooted in the Irish landscape, Nature’s Acre is a memoir about the ways nature can change us. It is a story of growing things, nurturing a place and discovering how a small patch of earth can have a profound impact.

A thoughtful and uplifting read for anyone who loves gardening, nature, Irish landscapes and stories of place, family and community.
