Description

Wexford Tawny Oat is an east-Irish heritage oat producing a plump, tawny-coloured grain.  Yields well on soils of average fertility. This is a tall crop, with a large production of straw, though the fine straw means it may lodge more easily than other varieties. Fairly hardy, it grew well in Scarriff over winter. Best grown in sandy soils.
