Description
Named Turnip Apple in Ireland due to the fact that the fruit grow as big as turnips. This variety is a match for the Welsh apple ‘Gelli Aur’ following DNA testing.
Fruit is slightly sweet, sharp, juicy and crisp with good flavour. Historically used for cooking and cider making in Ireland.
