This kale variety is an Irish landrace originally from Kilscanlon, Co. Limerick. It produces an abundance of medium-sized soft tasty leaves, edible fresh throughout the winter and spring. Excellent tolerance to cold as it was grown at ISSA outdoors without any fleecing throughout the winter of ’24-’25. Hardy plants and hardy seed – we grew the last crop from seed saved in 1999! Cooked or fresh, this tasty Irish heritage crop is a great addition to the dinner table.
