Description
Very large and useful cooking apple. Bears abundantly with good disease resistance. Raised in Lincolnshire about 1850 by a Mr. Dewdney. Grown in the orchards of Glenstal Abbey, Murroe, Co. Limerick. This variety made a great contribution towards the self-sufficient food production of the abbey and school, hence the local name.
