Description
King Richard leek is an early-season variety with a reliable cropping habit. It produces long, white to pale green shanks with a good flavour. The variety matures early, making it suitable for an earlier leek harvest. When sown early, King Richard can be harvested from late summer onwards.
The variety has also been found to overwinter in mild Irish conditions. It has reasonable tolerance to frost during the growing season. However, some plants may not survive an especially harsh winter.
