Stamme Gold Onion is an excellent onion variety for everyday cooking, with excellent taste and attractive appearance. When we first grew out the original ‘Stamme’ variety, we found the bulbs to be of mixed types. Since then, we have since been selecting out different strains for subsequent grow-outs. The ‘Stamme Gold’ variety has golden/umber, globe-shaped bulbs. Delicious and a reliable cropper, this ‘Stamme’ onion lives up to its Norwegian translation meaning ‘strength and rootedness’.
